It was during our travels out West that we learned about the mystical flute player, Kokopelli, pronounced: “Coke-a-pellie.”
Using the Internet, I read: “The legend of Kokopelli is well-preserved in ancient rock carvings and paintings dating back as far as 3000 years.”
I also read: “Legend has it that his flute playing also symbolized the transition of winter to spring.”
So I thought it would be appropriate for a post on this, our first day of spring.
As you view my scroll-sawed “masterpiece”, listen very carefully, use some imagination, and perhaps you too will hear Kokopelli’s mesmerizing flute.
He’s also a sexy little fertility guy…happily dancing around here in New Mexico!!! That and Spring certainly go together…remember Hooray Hooray the first of May…? We’re not quite there yet, so I’ll save that one!!!
